DC goes green.....

....well, in terms of what Washingtonians are putting on their plates, that is.

Say hello to new salad cafe
Sweetgreen, located at 3333 M St. NW. The menu has a variety of chef-created salads (the Curry Gold with raisins, almonds, chicken, celery, shredded coconut, and mangu dressing sounds delish), plus mix-your-own options. And dessert is pretty guilt-free, too: try the all natural Sweetflow frozen yogurt that gets its sweetness from the real fruit that's blended into the mix.

And if one "green" eatery isn't enough, look for an outpost of New York City's Chopt'd that's supposed to open any day now in Penn Quarter.

This place wasn't open yet this weekend. It looks like a disaster area.
